I Have A Story To Tell
Publication Date: Mar 2004
This book documents the life-stories of a group of 32 young Zimbabwean women who were the first to be supported through their education by CAMFED International. They now hold positions of authority in their poverty-stricken rural communities, working to address the problems that are associated with rural poverty, HIV/AIDS and educational exclusion. As lawyers, health educators, teachers and mentors these women's stories are ones of tragedy, hardship and struggle as well as joy, progress and success. The stories are accompanied by images of the women and their rural Zimbabwe. They offer a case study for gendered development and argue well the case for the education and empowerment of girls and young women as a model for sustainable development.
