UK Home Office resource collection: female genital mutilation

Publisher: Home Office Research, Development and Statistics Directorate
Publication Date: Jan 2014
This UK Home Office online resource series brings together all documents relating to FGM. The documents found here include statements opposing FGM, guidance notes, impact assessments, policy papers, correspondence, forms and promotional material. For example, the policy paper, 'UK declaration on female genital mutilation’, released on the International Day of Zero Tolerance to Female Genital Mutilation (February 2014) is a government declaration to end FGM in the UK and abroad. The guidance statement opposing FGM, published the same month, outlines what FGM is, the legislation and penalties involved, as well as help and support services; this statement is often referred to as a ‘health passport’. Among various other publications in this collection are guidance notes for applying for FGM grants of £2,000 to £10,000 for community engagement initiatives, and Department of Health correspondence regarding the safeguarding of girls at risk.

Among the Ending FGM campaign materials featured in this collection is the video, <a href="/%3Cspan%3E%3C/span%3E%3C/span%3E%3Cspan%20lang%3D"EN-US" xml:lang="EN-US">">‘Ending FGM’</a>
